Julia Alvarez, one of my favorite authors, already had a lovely website through the college where she teaches, but she wanted to make some changes & move to her own website. It has been a pleasure working with her to make-over her website so that it now works even better than it did (& I learned some new tricks too!).

The Heartsong Farm website has more than one look, a simple way to differentiate between sections. The Lost Nation Orchard pages are green so that they are visually separate from the rest of the site while they still use the same layout & menu system so it's always easy to find your way around the site. There are several forms throughout the website & its herb- or apple-inclined visitors frequently sign up for the mailing list & send in feedback.

The Stirring the Cauldron website began with a year's worth of new moon newsletters from Jessica Prentice, a seasonal cooking pro. Her home page is like a table of contents, full of links to newsletters & other goodies. The new moon newsletter is one of my favorites as it raises my awareness of the seasons. |
SolarFest: One of the most enjoyable aspects of the internet is that it's possible to use bolder colors than one can use with paper. Naturally it's important to make a website that is easy to use, but there's plenty of room to play. Another fun thing about website work is that there are playful people out there doing wonderful things. |
The Canopy Tower of Panamá website has a short menu across the top & a complete menu across the bottom, allowing for wider content in between. I post many pictures for Raúl, cropping the photos he sends me & saving them as fast-loading files. I can also post pages in Spanish (I don't translate, but I can edit). |
Sienna Moonfire Designs: my own site is a place to share my picture stories with friends (some of whom I may never meet!), to showcase my work & just to play. |
