Obviously we'll put your logo in & the title on the top can be whatever color or font you want (actually, if you want a special, uncommon font we'll make it an image, which is slightly less desirable as far as search engines go -- they favor text -- but shouldn't be a big deal).
This site has only one page so you won't see a change if you click the links. The tabs will move according to what page you're on (the Newsletters tab will be yellow if you're on that page). Those colors could be different too.
This page is designed to be somewhat narrow in order to suit the needs of folks with smaller monitors. The content will center itself for larger windows, so hopefully everybody will be happy.
The background (the blue mosaic stuff in back) is just something I have on my own site ( siennamoonfire.com -- BTW, including links like this is really easy & exchanging links is a great way to get new visitors, so let me know who you like & I'll make a links page -- click for an example). We can use it or come up with a new background ( see below for a few ideas).
Font colors can be changed according to your preferences, although obviously we're going for a legible page, so there are limits (& we need to settle on the background first). The font styles can change easily as well. On this page the text is my favorite serif family & the menu is sans-serif. One thing to remember for both font & color is that different set-ups show them differently. You want to pick a common font found on most computers -- the cool thing is that you can specify a few so that if they don't have, say, Georgia (which is what this is assuming you have it), they'll see Times New Roman (everybody has that).
Colors are a bit tricky too but there are lots of choices. Here's a cool color site that might help you pick what you like: colormatch.dk & here's another visibone.com/colorlab & one more: lynda.com/hexh.html. Send me the 6 digit code & I can recreate the exact color you select.
This part here could be 2 columns (maybe one for the latest news that changes periodically) or have a picture (you can mail or email them to me) on the right or... let me know what you want!

p.s. Here are some of the backgrounds I have "lying around" that might give you some ideas about what you want. One thing to remember is that most of it will be covered so abstract is best.
Jennifer said crayon colors are good, so check out their background: crayola.com. I love Jennifer's idea of using marbled paper that Ethan made with the kids! That would be easy if I can have a piece or a scan of some of the paper. |
